evaluation part 6

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have learned how to control a mac, it is different to a Windows computer, but is easy to navigate once you get used to it, i like some features better than windows computers, for example the easy navigation across different pages. It is great for using photoshop on as the screen is spacious and high quality.

I have learned lots about photoshop in my media class, this has helped me greatly in creating a magazine cover.

what i have learned about layers on photoshop

  • They do not destroy your original photo.
  • You are working on top of or on copies of that photo.
  • You will have more control.
  • You can use blending modes to change the way layers interact.
  • You can change the opacity of any effects.
  • You will have or can add layer masks so that you can work selectively on your photo with any adjustments you make

    evaluation part 4

The audience for my magazine Image are 16-25 year olds. this is a small age range for selling magazines, I have identified a gap in the market in which a lot of magazines could be sold. I am including things that they want to see so they will read the magazine, which is why on the front cover and contents page I have included sell lines that could be potentially prove to be very popular with these readers.

My magazine will be available as a digital version, you can subscribe on itunes, or on the internet, you will be able to view it on all devices including iOS and Android.url.jpg

    evaluation part 3

I would like IPC Media group to publish magazine because IPC media is UK based publishing House. IPC Media  is an institution that has a broad range of magazines and on the category of music it has only NME. NME is a very well selling music magazine, and I think if I can get my magazine published by them then it will be able to sell really well.

The conventions, the producer and target audience of my text

The conventions I plan to follow and keep regarding are the short and memorable title, which Is a large and dominant icon, and it will make clear the title of the magazine. The price will be shown on the front of the magazine on top of the bar code. The image will be clear and the subjects face will stand out, and they will also be making eye contact with the camera to draw readers in. The magazine cover will not have any thumb nails showing what is in the magazine, instead it will have sell lines and content teases, showing what is inside the magazine and drawing the reader in. The image will be dominant, full page image of the main article of the magazine, this will draw the readers in as they want to read about the big artist, the masthead will also go behind the artists head and some text will cover it at this is a common convention of a magazine cover.  I plan to not have any thumb nails because it will make the front cover clearer and make people read the sell lines instead of just looking at the pictures, this will attract people as it will look fresh and clean, and stand out from all the cluttered front covers on the shelf.

I would have ICP Media (Time Inc.) to produce the magazine as they produce many major titles including New Musical Express, popularly known as NME, they will produce the magazine as they already distribute to my target market of teen agers from ages 17-18. I have researched the company and they seem large enough to get the magazine out to major distributors such as supermarkets, corner shops and shops such as W.H smiths, it will also be able to be sent to homes as subscriptions.  I will also be assured of the quality, it will be a high standard and I will also know they will be distributed on time as it is a reputable company.

The target audience of my magazine is teenager’s ages aged 17-18 who are into hip hop and R&B music, the magazine will be about all types of music, but will mostly feature popular artists of the hip hop culture. There will be no specific gender as music is open to everyone and your taste in music isn’t specific to your gender.
