Key features of a magazine cover

In the image below i have pointed out the key features of a magazine cover.

Mast Head
The Mast Head is the main title of the magazine, it is generally large and can be infront or behind the image. It is generally located in the top left corner.

Sell lines
These are smaller text and have interesting things to draw in the reader.

 Essential info
This is generally the issue number and the date, it can include the price also.

Main sell line
Enigma code teases the audience, generally three words, no general position and large text size. It is regarded as what the publisher thinks is most important.

Sub-head
This exaplins the main sell line enigma and further entises the audience.

Main Image
This builds an image/ identity of the magazine it also draws in the audience.

Main task: the front page, contents and double page spread of a new music magazine
